Yet Another Loss

Boy, this is getting so old. We're 3 and 7 in our last 10 games and these losers, that's right, you guys are a bunch of losers, have dropped 3 games in a row! I throw millions of my hard-earned cash at this team and all they can muster up is 2 friggin' runs?!

Andy, nice pitching job, by the way. You tossed 7 strong innings, only gave up 2 runs and your chump teammates can't score more than 2 runs of their own...

THERE'S NO HEART ON THIS TEAM!!! WHERE ARE OVER-ACHIEVERS THESE DAYS?! MAN, I'D GIVE HALF MY PERSONAL FORTUNE FOR ANOTHER SCOTT BROSIUS! THEY JUST DON'T MAKE 'EM LIKE THAT ANYMORE.

OH, AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON SCOTT "HOW CAN I LOSE THIS ONE?" PROCTOR!!!! WHAT DID HE DO LAST NIGHT...LET'S SEE...HE PITCHED TO 4 BATTERS, GOT ONE OUT AND GAVE UP THE WINNING RUN. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ HIS UPCOMING BOOK. I HEAR IT'S CALLED "HOW I MADE $446K WITH A 1-5 RECORD".

SOMETHING'S GOTTA CHANGE AROUND HERE...THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

CASHMAN, GET YOUR BUTT IN HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is a joke blog but to be fair to Proctor - I was completely surprised to see him in there at all. He worked the 21, 22, and 23 and threw a little under 90 pitches. To use him AGAIN was just a poor choice on Torre's part. I know he trusts Proctor to be his guy in the 'pen, but you can't overwork a guy and then get surprised when he doesn't come through.

Fair enough, but the entire bullpen is unreliable. It would be one thing if this was the first meltdown of the year, but we both know it's been a consistent pattern. The problem is, now the bats have gone cold too!

There's no doubt about that. They've been overworked from the beginning of the season. Vicaino has been a bit better of late - I believe his last appearance was on the 23rd of June and he had a 1-2-3 inning - due to his work with Mo. However, if there's one thing this bullpen needs - it's strikes. Stop effing walking people! Bruney has AMASING! stuff and all he averages at least one walk per inning!

I know there's the fear with the pitching staff this year that the Offense isn't going to get it together and score them any runs and so they have to try and pitch more selectively. I understand. But that can still not excuse the fact that we lead the MAJORS with base on balls. It's inexcusable.

The Offense needs to get it together and realise that Posada, Rodriguez, and Jeter cannot do it all year long. Then hopefully the starting pitchers can go deeper again, give the bullpen some rest, and let them all perform up to their actual ability; as opposed to the overused, dead arms that we've been seeing of late.
