Scooter Is Gone...And I'm Bummed

My old buddy Phil "Scooter" Rizzuto passed away today. What a character he was. I'm gonna miss him big-time.

My favorite Scooter memory is when he did that crazy play-by-play bit in that song by that Loaf fella. I think the tune was called "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" or something like that. Anyway, the melody itself was awful but it was fun hearing Scooter do his bit.

Sometimes when it was just Phil and I sitting around having a few beers I'd ask him to "do that Paradise thingie!" What a guy. He'd always oblige.

As I mentioned earlier, heaven must have needed a shortstop and let me tell ya, they got a great one in this guy.

Does this mean I don't have to repay my loan to the Money Store?

Hey, quit bustin' the chops of my (now deceased) good friend! Of course you have to pay. And if you don't, I'm gonna have one of my good friends, let's call him, Guido, stop by and introduce his ball bat to your kneecaps!

Hey Fake George, if all of my Sicilian relatives weren't dead you wouldn't be talking so big!

MR. Fake George,

Please accept my apology for flying off the handle in my above post. It was uncalled for and unprofessional and didn't convey the respect and admiration I have for you and your organization. Also, please tell Guido to send me the dry cleaning bill for the blood stains I inadvertently spilled on his trousers.

I'll think about it, my friend. For now, you're going to have to deal with the fact that you spouted off like that. I'll do what I can to call off the wolves. In the mean time, I suggest you take public transportation and don't start your car...
